 This artist-in-wood is Michael S. Penley, who was born in 1947 near
Chesapeake Bay. Having lived in the great northwest for over 25 years he has
observed waterfowl and nature in it's pristine natural surroundings across
the country. From his reflection on that beauty came a calling to carve it in wood for others. Michael's studio is located at his home in Gilman City, MO where he works with various woods and tools to create his unique wildlife designs. In stark contrast to his serious and realistic works, Michael also enjoys expressing his lighthearted inner-self through humorous character carvings. |
