Digitizing - Lesson 6

We'll do a simple design and outline with this lesson. Download seal.pcx file.
Import the seal.pcx and zoom in to see it more clearly.
This will be simple...just two colors. Gray and black.
Do a fill stitch pattern and go all the way around the outline of the seal. Here's what it will look like if you hide the .pcx file.
Set your stitch angle. Look at the outline and figure out what angle you think would look good.

After you complete the fill, do manual and fill stitches to define the areas inside the design (lines in the flippers, eyes, mouth, etc.)

When you have finished with that, hide the .pcx.
Make a manual outline all the way around the seal. If you wish to 'really' define the seal make a second pass of the outline. Try it both ways to see how you like it best.
Practice, practice, practice. Instead of doing a manual outline, try one with a broader 'fill stitch' outline. See how you like that effect.
