Open the jelly.pcx and zoom-in. Here's the challenge - before you digitize one stitch, sit and look at all the colors. Does the design have a particular color you don't care for? Which color might you like to have be different? Remember, this is YOUR creation and you get to do it your way! (Remember to change stitch angles on the beans.)

![]() | You can digitize the jelly beans one of two ways. First you can start by using the lightest color and digitize the first jelly bean of that color and then make manual stitches to the another jelly bean of that color. You'll digitize over the manual stitches later with a darker color, so the stitches won't show. This method saves on thread clipping. The only caution is your darker colors may not be dark enough to cover the manual stitches. One way to side-step that from happening is to do your manual stitches 'around' the outline of the undigitized jelly beans, instead of through it. The other method is simply to digitize from bean to bean and clip the thread between beans. If you have a little eyesight problem clipping threads can be a frustration. In that case use the Function/Jump Stitch command in the menu bar to go from bean to bean. The jump adds a little more thread in between (so you don't need to dig to get under a thread to clip it.) |
![]() | I used a combination of manual (for the very lightest colors) and jump stitches for the dark. Be sure to clip threads before you start sewing another color. I used a satin stitch for the edge of the jar and the rim. If you aren't quite ready for using satin stitching, use fill stitch. |
